Description
One off Giclée print limited-edition (No.1-100) by Shagufta Shakeel on finest Hahnemühle German Etching paper. Hand numbered and hand signed.
Part of six-piece collection ‘GROWTH’ inspired by the diversity of bamboo and its cultural symbolism.
This collection is inspired by the bamboo growing in my back garden which has always mesmerised me with its beauty and resilience.
I drew this collection through the summer of 2024 from my home studio that overlooks my garden. Although I have to turn around to see the bamboo plant (it’s behind my workstation), it provides a sense of security that no matter what, when I turn around, I will always find it there – strong and thriving.
My art is a cross between abstract and realism, tilted more towards abstractionism. The inspiration I draw from nature is fleeting, the imagination heavy.
Longevity – I think I have a complicated relationship with this one, both with the art and the concept of longevity. Is immorality the eventual goal of humankind? If we don’t confuse longevity with eternal life, then I think I am fine with it.

Wanted a new art print without having to pay £££ and was actually pleasantly surprised not only by the art but the paper and printing is of very high quality as well. Really pleased, a good price for a limited-edition print. Haven’t put it on the wall yet as need to get a good frame.
